Therapy and Rehabilitation for Multiple Sclerosis at Shepherd Center

Specialized MS physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatments to improve function, mobility, and independence

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, fluctuating disease that progresses over time and can lead to physical and cognitive limitations. Rehabilitative treatment is a proven therapy to help keep you as active and independent as you can be, no matter what type of MS you are diagnosed with.

While rehabilitation doesn’t stop the progression of MS, it can greatly improve your quality of life. The Eula C. and Andrew C. Carlos Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation and Wellness Program at Shepherd Center is the only dedicated program for the rehabilitative treatment and wellness of patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and related conditions in Georgia.

Our highly trained MS rehabilitation clinicians include physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, exercise physiologists, and case managers. Together, the therapy team collaborates throughout the specialized care plan to ensure interdisciplinary access, whether your goal is to restore lost function or continue to remain fit and healthy.

You may also be referred to our Integrated Therapy Program (ITP) in combination with other rehabilitation therapies prescribed by your physician designed to improve daily living function. This three-week program integrates therapy and aspects of our MS Wellness program for those who could benefit from a more condensed care plan.
